After Christmas Christmas Cookies

Apparently Payten would rather eat the cookie dough than make the cookies. But then again who doesn't??

She was not too happy that I would no let her help herself to all the dough she wanted.

She was much more messy than she appears in this picture. She had tons of fun though!!!

Road Trip

This past Saturday Linus, Payten and I went for a scenic drive. It was absolutely beautiful. we took the pictures in downtown Ojai. It was a nice little town. We got out of the car to walk Payten around. We walked up to the fountain and she stopped and starred at it. Like she had never seen one before. Maybe it is new for her memories. Any way I thought her face was really cute when she was starring at it!

Christmas Day

Looks like Santa knew just what she wanted.

Our new puppy to be Tippy's buddy! Can you tell she was a sick little girl Christmas Day?? Poor thing could only breathe through her mouth.

Payten hugging her knew argyle Giraffe. She loves hugging her stuffed animals and dolls! Can you tell mommy just got out of bed too??!! YUCK!

Payten's new ball popper. Abby and I had tons of fun with this too!!!

We all loved being with my parents. It has been so many years since I have been able to spend time with them on Christmas day. Payten had a GREAT Christmas. She loved coming out to see what Santa gave her even though she had no clue what was going on!!! We hope everyone else had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did!!! We are so excited for many more Christmas' with Payten. We couldn't be more blessed. She is truly such a Joy to be around. We love her SO VERY MUCH. I think every day that she was more than worth the wait. I would do it all again in a heart beat!! Merry Christmas to Every one and a Happy New Year!!

HUGE Bear!!

Payten got a huge bear from Grandma and Grandpa Sparks. She thought is was pretty cool. As you can see it is Gigantic. It is so soft and squishy!!! I think she is going to love rolling around with it!!

Playing with cousins

Payten carefully pulling Sally.

Payten crashing while Owen is pulling her.

Payten not too sure about Sally playing with her dolly.

Payten decided she is VERY upset about Sally playing with her dolly!!

2 Happy girls. Payten decided she could play with the monster instead.

Payten decided she wanted to sit with her Aunt Shauna and cousin Drew.

Little Sally and Uncle Linus.

Owen and Payten Playing on the couch.

Sally pulling at the jingle bell Christmas collar on Tippy!

Payten THINKING she is helping Owen play the wii

Payten watching some one else for the first time eat in her high chair! Luckily she was ok with it. I think she likes being bigger than someone!!

We loved having Justin, Shauna and their children over. Payten loved running around with them too!!! Hopefully we get to see them again before they leave!!

Play time during Sunday School

Here are Payten and Reagan during the Sunday school hour at church last Sunday. They both looked so cute in their Christmas dresses. I love the picture of them both stuffing their faces! They love Playing but unfortunately it does not wear them out to be good during the 3rd hour. Oh well less than 2 months and Payten will get to be in nursery!!

Santa's House

The other night we were driving through the circle G on Lindsay and Houston to see the Christmas lights. When we were there we saw where Santa lived!! He sits outside in his chair from the 15-23rd from 7-9pm. So we got out of our car so Payten could sit on Santa's lap!! She did not cry but was a little weary!

Little Get Together

We had a little family Christmas get together last night. It was nice to see everyone. The cousins had tons of fun playing together. Thanks to Kaylani and Jake for hosting us!!

All of the children are gathered around Aunt Shannon, as usual:)!! They always lover her!

For most of the evening Payten could be found in the playroom playing with her cousin Tacey. Payten LOVED the play houses!! She ran in and out of them the whole night. Then she discovered she could exit through the window instead!! Then she ran in through the door and out through the window over and over and over again!!!

Here is a video of Payten going through the window. She had more difficulty going throuhg this window cause it is taller. The other house the window was a little shorter.
Looks like the house may be on fire, better exit through the window!! I just love my little girl!!

GINGERBREAD MEN

So here is the final outcome of our decorating. I know it is backwards but I forgot to download this. I hate that blog puts them in first, I think they should go in the order you download them! Can you tell which one I let her decorate by herself??

She decided to try and take a taste before we even got the frosting ready!!

She looks thrilled doesn't she??!!

She got bored REALLY fast.

We decorated Gingerbread men at Lynsey's house today while they did a house. Let's just say neither Payten or I are pros!! In fact she may be better than me. She was no too into it, which was to be expected! She tried all the candy and wasn't too thrilled with those either, I guess she does not like gum drops. Next year we will do the gingerbread house. Lynsey's turned out much better than our!! Of course everythig she does turns out better!!! But it was fun!

Decorating

Well Payten is almost 16 months old and I am still working on her room. Mostly because I am picky. I could never find letters that I liked to put above her bed. They were all just too simple and I would have had to paint them and put a lot of work into them. So I helped out in a boutique a couple weeks ago and sat next to someone who did the vinyl lettering. She had something like these but that were blocks and said sisters. I told her this was EXACTLY what I wanted except on thin wood and with ribbons to hang on her wall. I think it turned out PERFECT!!!
As for the shadow box. I have been meaning to do it for a long time now and just have procrastinated doing it. It is still not done (obviously cause it is lying on the bed and not hung on the wall!). I need to get the lettering and at the top put "Madyson Payten Hollobaugh" and at the bottom put "September 30, 2007" . This is the dress and shoes my mom knitted for her and that she was blessed in. It is one of my most cherished things. The picture does it no justice. It it 26x20 ( I think) or maybe even bigger. HUGE!! It is made to put a sports jersey in. Anyway when I get it done I will post and try to take a good picture, but not til after the holidays!!

TIME OUT!

I have been trying to find something besides saying "no" and the usual scolding. I feel like that is all I do all day. So yesterday we tried time out. IT WORKED. Payten hated it. Linus got on me for taking a picture of her but I said I had to have the first time so I could remember it and blog about it!! then today I did it 2 times while Linus was gone we did it again tonight and she sat there for Linus CRYING and waiting for him to press the button on the timer. She pretty much stayed this time reluctantly and crying, of course, the whole time until we told her to come. And then she snapped out of it just like that!!! Hopefully it works for a while or she is going to have one sore bum:)

Christmas Pics with a 15 month old!!

Well, I never thought it would be this difficult. Maybe it would have been easier if we did not try to do it by our selves but OHHHH well!! It was after church AND she had a Poopy diaper. I did not want to change it. It would have made things worse. Taking off her shoes, black panties, tights and then change her diaper and try to get them all back on again??!!! After a while I brought Tippy in hoping it would help. It did a little at least she was not screaming any more!!There were a couple that turned out decent so those were the winners!! next year maybe she will sit still for a few seconds!!!
